Walt Disney World has completed its lineup for its Broadway concert series that’s part of the upcoming Epcot International Festival of the Arts, and an Orlando native is one of the latest additions. Michael James Scott, who grew up in Orlando and has appeared as Genie in “Aladdin,” will be on stage at the theme park on eight nights in February.
It will mean back-to-back Central Florida gigs for Scott, who will be in “Aladdin” at downtown Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from Jan. 22 to Feb. 9.
Other additions to the Epcot lineup include Adam Jacobs (also of “Aladdin"), Syndee Winters (“The Lion King”) and Liana Hunt (”Newsies").
Scott is a graduate of Dr. Phillips High School and worked as a parade performer as well as other roles at Disney World as a teenager.
The complete Disney on Broadway Concert Series lineup, subject to change, is now:
· Jan. 17, 20, 21, 24: Kissy Simmons and Alton Fitzgerald White (“The Lion King”)
· Jan. 18, 19, 22, 23: Heidi Blickenstaff (“The Little Mermaid”) and Gavin Lee (“Mary Poppins”)
