Florida's governor declared a state of emergency as Hurricane Dorian is forecast to be a Category 3 storm at landfall this weekend.

As of 2 p.m., Hurricane Dorian was directly over St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands with 75 mph winds, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm is expected to grow in size and could hit Category 3 status before reaching Florida’s east coast by early Monday.
