Eustis student, 13, busted after vowing to ‘bring a gun to school and start shooting’
(Orlando Sentinel)

A 13-year-old Eustis Middle School student was arrested Friday after three classmates told the school resource deputy the youth vowed to bring a gun to school and begin shooting, according to an arrest report.

It turned out he didn’t have access to firearms, the report said.

That didn’t stop him telling classmates, “Wait for me to pull out my Glock and start shooting,” the report said. “I’m going to bring a gun to school and start shooting.”

The boy isn’t being named because of his age.

One classmate said the boy talking about bringing a gun was wearing a ski mask at the time, according to the report, which also said a search of the boy’s belongs turned up no weapons and that his father told the deputy he no longer has firearms in the home.

The boy was taken into custody on a juvenile charge of making a false report concerning a firearm in a deadly manner.

School had been dismissed when the school’s dean of discipline notified the deputy about the teen’s statements, the report said.

While the deputy walked the boy to the front office, he said, “Why do I always do this to myself," the report said.
