Ciulla has security cameras but he said the video loop only goes back a couple of weeks and the Sasquatch was snatched before then.
He only noticed it was missing while repairing a deflated Halloween pumpkin display.
“We have so many decorations up I didn’t even catch it was missing until it was too late,” he said.
#Bigfoot is missing! Someone stole the 8-foot, 300-pound Sasquatch statue from in front of Mattress Monsterz last month. If you've seen it, know who has it or where we can find it, call Det. Danielle Whitefield at 561-732-8116 or @CrimeStoppersPB at 800-458-TIPS. pic.twitter.com/VJ9AkfYaVN
Ciulla doubts it was a group of kids pulling a prank because of the weight and size of the statue. He said at least two men would be needed to uproot, carry, and load the Bigfoot into a large truck to steal it.
“What are you going to do with this gorilla?” he wondered. “I know they’re not going to put it in their house unless they have vaulted ceilings because this thing is so big it’s going to hit the ceiling.”
He has searched online auction websites in case someone was trying to sell it, but no luck.
“Hopefully it will show up in the bushes somewhere,” he said. Then he’ll have two Bigfeet.
Boynton Beach police are asking anyone who finds it or has information on its whereabouts to contact Detective Danielle Whitefield at 561-732-8116 or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 800-458-8477 or online at crimestopperspbc.com.
